Laurel's Youth Connexions
New  event ~ Tues. Feb. 21 from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. There will be a youth
connexion trip to Ingersoll to play wallyball (modified volleyball).  Please contact

Sat. Feb. 18 from 3:00-6:00 p.m. is Phase 2 of our painting project.  Come paint
your faith with us on our youth room walls.  Also available that afternoon: free
knitting 101 lessons and supper.  Stay the day and join our youth trivia team. 
Make plans for this summer - the Go Project – Is a youth mission trip experience
for the youth in Grade 9 to age 19.  Spend 2 weeks in a Canadian city, making a
difference doing community work.  Dates are July 1 to July 12, July 22 to August 2.

Trivia Challenge Fundraiser
Westminster's annual Trivia night will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2012 in
Westminster Hall.  Doors open at 7:00 p.m. and Trivia starts at 7:30 p.m.
Teams will consist of 8 players and the cost is $160 per team. Or you may sign up
individually for $20. per person and we will put individuals together to form a team.

Child/Infant CPR education - Reply Requested by Feb. 15. Infant/Child CPR
education:  Are you a parent or grandparent interested in learning the basics of
CPR for infants and children or just want to know what to do in an emergency should
the situation ever arise?  Two sessions for training in basic CPR will be included.
    Thamesford paramedic Sean Van Alphen will be instructing. 
There is no charge for this education, but you are required to register in advance

Accessibility Act Information:This is something we all should be up to date on!
Christa Weir-Cudney (Accessibility Officer) will provide accessibility training to all
interested members of the congregation on  Sunday, February 26th, immediately
following the church service.  This training will take approximately 45minutes and we
will watch a video, followed by an informal discussion.  All church staff, volunteers,
nursery staff and kids’ connexion teachers are expected to complete this training.
This training can also be accessed online at www.londonconference.ca  If you think
you will be able to attend this short workshop please leave your name with the office.

Youth Study Tour to Nicaragua in May for young adults (ages 18-25). The tour is
open to any young adult who wishes to participate, though we particularly encourage
young adults who are connected to our member organizations to apply. 
While in Nicaragua we will visit some projects and also learn about the larger
context in which the projects operate. We will explore various issues dealing with
food, farming and agricultural production in Nicaragua. There will also be a homestay
(2-3 nights) and a chance to meet with Nicaraguan youth. Ultimately,  I hope that the
participants will come back inspired to start/continue working for a more just world
through Foodgrains Bank and its members. The website states that the cost is
$3,000 but there are a few possibilities to help lower the cost per participant.
