Rev. Mark Marshall
Worship & Program
Mark is the proud father of six children  with his wife Cheryl.  After five years
of teaching Kindergarten (yes, you read that correctly,) he answered the call
to ministry, enrolled in Emmanuel College in Toronto, and was ordained on May 28, 2011.

Mark has been proud to call Westminster his home since July of 2006, and
says he has always been impressed by the energy of the congregation.
He loves leading lively, musical worship services and enjoys all the
programming he does at church.

Laurel Grieve
Youth Ministry
Laurel joined the Westminster family in September 2011 as youth minister.  Coming from an environmental science background, she has been a youth leader with the United Church since early 2010.  She has a passion for learning new things, leadership development, creative devotionals and rocking youth events.  Laurel has been involved with youth for over 10 years through 4-H, Girl Guides, camps and outdoor centres.  She loves the outdoors, making music and Camp Tanner.

Gerard Hamoen
Pastoral Care Minister
On October 15th, 2011, I was proud to be named the new Pastoral Care Minister for Westminster United Church.
My partner and I immigrated to Canada from Holland in 2003 and settled in Thamesford. We began attending Westminster at that time and feel at home in such a welcoming congregation.
I find that I am energized by people and new ideas.  Operating a B&B has provided  opportunities to get to know many people, offering as well, an opportunity to be a part of the Thamesford Business Association.
I have a strong background in church and the faith that I have has been my guide throughout my life.  My 25 years as a pediatric nurse and working with disabled folks has prepared me well for the joys and challenges as your new pastoral care minister.
The door is always open.

Bunny Warner
Office Administrator
The friendly, cheerful person who greets anyone who calls or visits our
church office is our Office Administrator, Bunny Warner.
When she is not in our church office, Bunny spends a lot of time painting or
drawing in her home studio here in Thamesford.
Bunny says that "Thamesford is a wonderful place to call home."

Becky Brenneman
Church Treasurer
Our Church Treasurer, Becky Brenneman, is a busy wife and
mother of four.  Becky is a graduate of the University of Guelph and has
been our treasurer for over 10 years.

Paul Tree
Music Coordinator and Organist
Paul has been Music Director at Westminster since 2010.
He began his music career with piano lessons and continued with the
pipe organ under the mentorship of Ross McDonald.  Before coming to Thamesford, he was organist at Chalmers United Church and Central in Woodstock.
As well as being our organist, Paul directs our choir and plays the piano.
A lifelong resident of the Woodstock area, Paul enjoys farming and working with dairy cattle.

Cheryl Marshall
Pianist
Cheryl has played the piano since childhood and loves to make music in
the church and especially with children.  After accompanying the choirs at
Innerkip United for over a decade, she became the Music Coordinator
at Westminster in the fall of 2006 and now  plays the baby grand piano
at Westminster each Sunday.  She has eclectic tastes in music, aims for a
blended style and thrives on variety.  When not leading music, Cheryl can
be found raising and running after her six children or working and playing
piano at the local ballet studio.

Susan Carscadden-Mifsud
Handbell Director
Susan has a passion for handbells, so it is no surprise that they are the
focus of her professional life as well as her avocation.  She is one of
Canada's most accomplished handbell soloists, a noted conductor and a
clinician who has shared her expertise and love of ringing nationally.
Susan has an extensive educational background graduating from both
UWO and Queens Universities.  She has been an elementary school teacher
, a private piano instructor and a musical administrator.
